Casey Tutungi kick started his career in the small, tight knit club of Lorne. The early years shaping his determined and courageous style of football. At thirteen Casey played his first game of football for Lorne’s under seventeen side and was soon to become an integral part of the team and club structure. All season, the junior team could only field a depleted side being defeated by huge margins every week was tough however character building and regardless of results Casey developed his iconic style of play. In his second year of football at Lorne he won the junior best and fairest and began to demand the attention of league talent scouts. At fifteen Casey broke into the Lorne senior side and was selected for the Geelong falcons development squad. Plagued by injury Tutungi alternated between the Geelong Falcons and Lorne’s senior side collecting the falcons most courageous along the way.
Casey then moved to Melbourne to study engineering at Monash University and began playing with Springvale in the VFL. Although it was footy, Case missed his mates and returned home to Lorne two seasons later to play in a senior premiership, taking out the club B&F, CDFL under 21 B&F and runner up CDFL B&F. In the following two seasons Casey took out Lorne’s B&F as well as being selected to play in Geelongs VFL team. Case remained with Geelong VFL and Local team South Barwon in recent years and has received stand out achievments in the Geelong VFL B&F top ten and selection in the GFL inter-league side, even though he has been struck down with a bad run of injuries. Casey has directed his attention to developing his leadership skills as South Barwon co-coach this season and is widely respected for his on and off the field character.
